Six cars can race simultaneously - and every one can be controlled by its driver in a different way. As you add accessories, rest assured that they will not take power away from the cars, since only SCX has implemented two separate electrical circuits in the track - one for the cars and one for the accessories. If your track size extends beyond 30 feet, add a second (or third) transformer to the central control unit to maintain maximum power.
Because SCX put an intelligent chip in the car, you can set maximum speeds at the beginner or expert level, change lanes to/from any lane to the other - or into the Pit Row to refuel, control the quantity of fuel put into the car, and return to the race at your command. Be careful, though, if you enter the pit row too quickly, you will receive a penalty - just like in a real race.
SCX smart cars "know" that when they are full of fuel, they weigh more and therefore cannot go as fast. As the car burns off fuel, their top speed will increase to 180 Miles Per Hour (scale speed). Furthermore, as the fuel tank approaches empty, the car will increasingly stutter as though it is running out of fuel - just like in a real race. It you don't refuel in time, you will be out for the remainder of the race.
Because SCX cars are intelligent, you can set varying levels of braking intensity, you can turn the xenon lights on or off, you can adjust the fuel tank capacity and starting fuel level to effect race strategy - all of this with the use of intuitive buttons on the digital control unit. And, you can change from/to and lane on straightaways or in curves. You can create chicanes in both the curves as well as straightaways. Build your tracks out to 4,6 or more lanes for increased passing opportunites. These features are only possible with SCX.
