Introduced in 1964, these insulated box cars were leased to a number of railroads and private industries. In service, they carried loads which required a constant temperature but didn't need to be refrigerated in transit. This included foodstuffs like cereal, beer, canned goods & chocolate, as well as a variety of lubricants & chemicals. Using the same basic body, three variations were built, which differed in inside length, types and thickness of insulation & load restraints. Just over 1300 roamed the rails & a few remain in use today.
These ready to run cars feature a detailed body, colorful paint & working knuckle couplers. Perfect for modeling bridge traffic or serving online users and producers, they'll brighten any freight from the 60s to the 90s.
