SHIPPING POLICY

DOMESTIC SHIPPING POLICY

We use the services of UPS and the U.S. Postal Service to deliver orders to you. We have no control over the rates these companies charge. There are many factors that contribute to the cost of shipping your products to you.

Internet Hobbies cannot ship goods to third parties. You will have to receive the goods and then ship them to the other party.

UPS

Our default UPS Ground shipping charge is $8.95 ($10.95 for orders in excess of $100.00 of shipped merchandise). This is the default amount that appears on your order confirmation. This charge will usually be enough to ship one 2 lbs. parcel to most locations in the contiguous United States. In all cases, Internet Hobbies charges our customers the actual cost of shipping. That means larger, heavier and orders which require multiple cartons will be charged exactly what UPS charges us. It also means we will reduce the shipping charge if it is less than the default amount. Remember, UPS cannot ship to a P.O. Box. UPS has several added charges that make up the total cost of shipping a product to you. This includes fuel surcharges (based on the cost of fuel in your area), distant delivery fees (depending on how far your location is from their center) and additional fees for home delivery as opposed to business locations. UPS levies charges on all re-directed shipments. In all cases, these charges will be passed onto our customer. Internet Hobbies, as a precaution against fraud, will not authorize any re-directed shipments over $100.00.

USPS

Internet Hobbies uses U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail to ship smaller orders which fit in one of their shipper cartons. We will also use their “Flat Rate” boxes when we can save you additional shipping costs. There are limitations on what products can be shipped using USPS Priority Mail services. This is usually, but not always, restricted to solvent based paints and aerosol cans. If your order contains any of these products, Internet Hobbies will automatically downgrade your shipping to UPS Ground.

INTERNET HOBBIES UPS FLAT RATE SHIPPING PROGRAM

We will ship out any qualifying order over $250.00 of shipped merchandise for a UPS Ground flat shipping rate of only $12.50, regardless of weight or size, to any location within the 48 contiguous United States. Only merchandise that is actually shipped will count towards this program. Orders containing out of stock, advance ordered, backordered or discontinued merchandise will not count towards $200.00 qualifier and are not eligible for this program. UPS cannot ship to Post Office boxes. Cannot be used in conjuction with any other Internet Hobbies' offers or special promotions.

ADDITION SHIPPING CHARGES BECAUSE OF WEIGHT, SIZE OR MULTIPLE CARTONS

If you pay for your order using a credit card, Internet Hobbies will adjust the invoice and charge your credit card for these additional shipping charges.

If you paid for your order using PayPal, you will receive a separate PayPal money request for these additional fees. Your order will be held until payment is received.

INTERNET HOBBIES FRAUD POLICY

All orders over $100.00 will require signature at time of delivery. This is done to protect us from fraudulent orders. If this will pose a problem for you, please contact our Customer Service Department to make special arrangements for the delivery of your order.

If you are paying for your goods using PayPal, you will be required to enter your verified PayPal address in the shipping block. There are no exceptions to this rule. If your address is not PayPal verified, we will cancel the order and refund your payment.

EXPEDITED AIR SHIPPING AVAILABLE

We also ship orders using UPS Air Services such as Next Day, 2nd Day, 3 Day and 3 Day Select. There are limitations on what products can be shipped using these airborne services. This is usually, but not always, restricted to solvent based paints and aerosol cans. If your order contains any of these products, Internet Hobbies will automatically downgrade your shipping to UPS Ground.

THERE'S NEVER A HANDLING OR PROCESSING FEE AT INTERNET HOBBIES

Have you ever wondered what those extra fees are that our competitors like to add to their shipping charges. What's a "handling fee"? Do they think it's okay to charge you for just handling your order? And don't they have to "process" your order anyway? Why is there an additional charge for that? Is it just additional profit that they try and get away with from their customers?

We think it's high time to offer you a different choice. WE ONLY CHARGE OUR CUSTOMERS THE ACTUAL TRUE COST OF SHIPPING. No additional hidden fees or charges. Shipping is not a profit center at Internet Hobbies.

DON'T FALL FOR THE FREE SHIPPING SCAM

Are you paying for someone else’s “Free Shipping?” Chances are if you’re buying from one of our competitors who offer “free shipping”, you’ll actually be paying a lot more from them than for the same products available at Internet Hobbies.

Here's a good example illustrating what we are saying. One of our competitors offers the new Tamiya 1/32 P51D Mustang on their website for $142.72. Their free shipping policy starts at $200.00. This kit would not qualify. Our price on that same kit is only $119.99. This is a savings of $22.73. These guys have their free shipping factored into their higher selling price, whether you use it or not. That means everyone is paying their higher prices just so a few can take advantage of this free shipping scam.

We don’t offer free shipping because our every day prices are usually the lowest available on the internet. We don’t think it is good business to overcharge our customers and then offer them a policy which in the long run costs them a heck of a lot more money. Remember that old saying, “There is no free lunch.”
