Chevrolet® stunned the automotive world when they unveiled the all-new 1963 Corvette®. Besides adding a new surname-Sting Ray®-the new Vette® featured a new chassis with independent rear suspension for better handling. The big news that everyone talked about was the gorgeous new fiberglass body. At a time when new American cars usually had more shiny chrome plate than most kitchens, the Corvette® mercifully had a minimum of brightwork. With its sharp edges and futuristic looking flip-around hidden headlamps, the new Sting Ray® could compete, styling-wise at least, with almost any other new car the world over. Features: Tough snap construction and color-molded parts to eliminate needing paint or glue, large diameter chrome wheels, colorful stick-on graphics.
