Caving in to the pressure being applied from government regulators and insurance companies, the early 1970's saw the end of the muscle car era and their large displacement V8 engines. No longer able to use horsepower as a selling tool, the auto company executives looked away from the engineers and instead to the designers. The new GM lineup of mid-size cars for 1973 featured “colonnade” styling and while the public debated what colonnade meant, the newly sculptured lines of the Monte Carlo™ found wide acceptance in the marketplace, becoming a best-seller. Of the five years that featured this styling, many feel the '77 Monte Carlo™ was the best looking of them all. Features: New large diameter chrome wheels, adjustable height suspension, parts molded in color.
