The Laser is the world's most popular sailing dinghy. Over 190,000 Laser dinghies are sailing in over 120 countries. Exciting to sail, Laser racing and Laser dinghies are found in nearly every sailing club in the world. The boat designed in 1969 as an easy manageable fun dinghy-boat was used at the Olympic games in 1996 for the first time. Therefore the laser is to be classified as a strict one-design boat class which interdicts alterations. With this uniformity of the boats the preconditions are the same for all sailors and in the end at the competition only their sailing knowledge is decisive and not the technical equipment. Every Laser is handbuilt to precise quality control procedures. Each element of the boat conforms to strict one-design specifications. From local club racing to International and Olympic competition the Laser Radial is raced throughout the world.
