The foundation of any layout is the track on which it is built, and no one has sold more track in that time than Lionel. But now, there is something new, a track system for the next 100 years. New for 2003, Lionel is proud to introduce its latest innovation for starters and pros alike, the realistic, versatile, and fun FasTrack track system.
At first glance, you will notice immediate differences: realistic, ballasted track bed, properly sized and spaced track ties, blackened center rail, and fixed pins. Beyond the cosmetics, however, lie careful design features ensuring years of reliable performance.

Patented, easy snap-together locking mechanism for sure connections.
Patented center half-pin that allows for track orientation in either direction without the need for moving pins from end to the next.
All three rails bonded together for optimal electrical continuity.
Two terminals under each piece of straight and curve track for power and/or accessory connections — no Lockons required!
Curves are O-36 to give locomotives a more realistic appearance around corners. The larger radius also allows for the running of larger locomotives than is possible on O-27 or O-31.
