The following responses may answer some of the questions that may be on your mind about Internet Hobbies.

Q. I'm having problems putting more than one item in my shopping cart?

A. Internet Hobbies requires that the "Accept Cookies" function be enabled for our shopping cart to register multiple purchases during your online session. You can find the "Accept Cookies" in the properties or preferences section of your browser's set up screen. Most browsers are automatically set to default to accept cookies. If you wish, you can always disable cookies after you have placed your order. By the way, we do not send out anything that will harm your PC when we embed a cookie on your hard drive.

Q. How secure is your service?

A. Internet Hobbies is one of Yahoo! Stores most successful clients. Yahoo! Stores provide our customers the highest level of secure online ordering. They have invested quite a bit of capital to insure that your order and credit card information is completely safe using the industry standard SSL technology. This 128 bit encryption software is all but impossible to crack by hackers and is used by thousands of online businesses worldwide.

Q. Good answer but I'm still skeptical. Can't I just call my order into you over the phone?

A. Internet Hobbies will gladly accept your order any way you wish to give it to us. We, however, recommend that all orders be placed through our web site so they can be fully integrated into the Yahoo! Store's excellent order processing and site management software. This will allow us to monitor the status of your order more effectively than if it is called in manually. Remember, you have the ability to place your order electronically on the site using the shopping cart system. If you are concerned giving out you credit information over the net choose "I WILL CALL CREDIT CARD NUMBER IN" as the method of payment. You can then call our Customer Service hotline, 800-873-9893 during normal business hours (M-F 10AM to 6PM) and give your credit card number verbally to one of our Internet Hobbies Customer Service Represetatives. Do not leave your number on the answering machine. It may get garbled and it will delay your order.

Q. I noticed that when I press the "Continue Shopping" button from the Shopping Cart page, I get a message stating that I am entering an unsecured site. I thought your web site was secure?

A. All of the portions which contain areas where vital customer information is required, such as the Shopping Cart page and the Order Forms, are fully protected by SSL encryption. The individual product pages are not. Some browsers will return this warning when you leave a protected area and go to a non-SSL page. Just disregard the notice and proceed through the website. When you go to the check out page you will notice that the secure icon for your browser will appear. You can then safely enter your information.

Q. I'd love to order from you but I don't have a credit card. Can I still use your service?

A. Yes you can. Just choose "I WILL SEND MONEY ORDER" as you method of payment from the drop down menu found on the Internet Hobbies Order Form. Use your emailed confirmation copy as your guide to the correct amount to make out your money order. Send to: Internet Hobbies, 504 Scranton-Carbondale Hwy, Mayfield, PA 18433. Once we have received your payment, we will continue to process your order. We currently accept US Postal Service Money Orders and International Money Orders drawn on US banks. Please do not send any Money Orders drawn on foreign banks. There are additional charges placed on these instruments from our bank. NO C.O.D. ORDERS!

Q. I live in a foreign country. Can I still buy through your service?

A. Yes. We have many customers worldwide and we pride ourselves in the excellent service we give to these customers. We realize that many of these people rely completely on mail order to receive their hobby products. We will include US Customs Declaration Forms on all overseas shipments.

Q. Are there any countries that you do not ship products to?

A. There are many countries that we cannot accept credit cards orders from. We will, however, be glad ship to these countries if payment is made in full by International Money Order drawn on a US Bank in US dollars. This policy is intended in no way to cast doubt on the honesty of customers from these countries but is the policy of our bank. Certain products are restricted for overseas sales. This includes all RC Cars & Trucks, RC Airplanes & Helicopters, RC Boats & Ships, Train Sets and Large Oversized Products.

Q. What about shipping charges to overseas destinations?

A. We currently ship to over 25 different countries worldwide. There are an enormous number of different freight rates to these countries. The default charge shown our order form is an average charge for a 4 pound parcel. Orders over 4 pounds will be charged actual cost of shipping. Internet Hobbies uses the U.S. Postal Service to ship to all foreign destinations.

Q. What about backorders?

A. You have the option of requesting any out of stock items to be shipped to you when they are available by choosing the Accept Backorders line on our order form. You can also choose not to have out of stock items put on backorder. Due to the higher cost of shipping, there are no backorders for foreign orders. We will. however, hold any backorders and ship them with your next order.

Q. Advance orders. Do you pre-charge me for those?

A. Internet Hobbies standing policy is to not charge a customer until we are ready to ship out their order. Unlike others in the hobby industry, we are not interested in having you float an interest-free loan to our company by charging your credit card for advanced orders. When the item is released and we have it ready to ship, we will charge your credit card. Not until then, period.

Q. I noticed that on my customer copy of the order form that "NONE" appears under the Item Number. Does this mean you are out of stock on that item?

A. No, the "NONE" you see only refers to the fact that there isn't a Item Number for this item. The Item Number is usually found on the "drop-down" menu. A good example would be an Athearn 40" Box Car where there are several different roadnames. Each raodname would be represented on the drop-down menu with an item number.

Q. I live in a foreign country and notice that when I try to buy from your "Expanded Edition" website I am told you do not ship outside the USA. I've bought from you in the past, so what's the problem?

A. The company, Horizon Hobby, that processes the orders for RC Connection has a policy of no foreign orders. There is a work around to this for our foreign customers by using our Special Purpose Order Form to place your order. Just copy the items you want from the RC Connection and check out in the normal fashion. Make sure you only purchase items that are shown IN STOCK.

Q. I was surfing your website and found several items I want to purchase. Some of the items are located under your RC Connection website and others are located on your regular website. Is there a way I can combine these items to only have one order?

A. Yes, there is a simple process to be able to combine the products you want into one shopping cart. First enter all of the non RC Connection items into your shopping cart. Once you have done this you can then enter the RC Connection items using our Special Purpose Order Form. Once you have completed entering all of your items, you check out in the normal fashion. Make sure you only purchase items from the RC Connection web pages that are shown IN STOCK.
